The staff at We Know Skin has a combined total of over 25 years using this method. The system employees the use of double-insulated galvanic tweezers, swab electrode or patch electrolysis. Depending on the areas to be treated, the hair removal specialist may employ one or more of the modalities at his or her discretion.

How our no-needle permanent Transdermal electrolysis process works
This patented process is safe, and effectively removes unwanted hair without the pain of needles or lasers.

This is the way the method works: A small amount of current that is not painful is transmitted from the patented machine and is channeled through galvanic tweezers, cotton-swab probe or gel patch. The current follows the exclusive highly-conductive cream or gel to the soft moist connective tissue around the mouth of the hair follicle and down into the follicle. This current causes the body to produce a chemical change in the follicle: the water and salt in the follicle becomes sodium hydroxide which destroys the hair root and its blood supply which are responsible for growing hairs.

This chemical process is called electrolysis. This method of hair removal is called Transdermal Electrolysis. “Transdermal” means “through the skin”. Sodium Hydroxide, which is produced naturally by the body and in very small amounts during our treatment, dissolves hair. This small amount of sodium hydroxide in the hair follicle of each growing-stage hair (which is at or above the surface of the skin) cuts off the means of the body to produce future hairs in those follicles.

Your treatments will be scheduled according to your body’s hair-growth cycles, usually every 7-10 days for facial hair, 14-21 days for most body hair and 28 days for back hair.

Because this method depends on the presence of salt and water in the hair follicles, you can see why it is important for clients to make sure that they are well-hydrated before each appointment. You are an active participant in your hair-reduction program allowing you to maximize your results.

Your technician is trained to prepare the skin properly, and apply the correct amount of current to the area(s) being treated for the appropriate amount of time for your individual treatment.

The process really is painless. Some clients take a “mini-vacation” and read or even sleep through their appointments.
